Imaginaceous Syncronicity

without comments

I had envisioned this shot a long time ago. I had intended to shoot it, or something like it with another woman with a large taxidermy collection about a year ago … but life kept getting in the way with other demands and inconveniences.

I have photographed Kristy a couple times before – most recently for Wedluxe. She also has a taxidermy collection, a rather bizarre one as it happens, so when Liz described a shot she wanted to do that meshed so closely with a shot that I had envisioned (a decade+ of working together … we rub off on each other I think; imaginaceous syncronicity) I thought of Kristy straight off.

These photos will be available for sale in the near future – both prints and the original glass plates – as a part of a growing collection of “art” images I am accumulating.

Liz has a post on her blog with some bts on making the antler harness.

PS: Imaginaceous Syncronicity … I may no longer be a teenager, but I can still invent words.

A long day

11 looks in 14 hours … that’s the price for shooting wedding fashion on an old field camera. It pays to be working with good people: Alecia Ebbels, Josh Langston, Kristy Jacobsen, Liz Dungate and the world’s most adorable darkroom assistant Aja Fraser. The photos in the gallery are as they were supplied to Wedluxe – without the artwork. You can view the story as it appeared in the magazine here. Liz has some bts on her blog post about the shoot.

Gone

without comments

In an effort to organize my web presence on the admin side I recently decided to move all of the web sites I manage onto one server (mine, my girlfriend’s and a private memorial site I am working on). Due to a colossal blunder on my part (forgetting to download the MySql database along with all the content) four years of blogging was lost in the process. While all of the content is still where it was none of the actual posts can be retrieved.

I will be updating my web site with most of the wet plate photos that were on the blog in the next week or so but the fashion and commercial work that was archived on the blog is lost and will stay that way.

It’s sad to lose 4 years of work, and frustrating to have to rebuild all the settings and customized features I had created over the years, but as they say, no sense in crying over spilt milk.

Onwards …
